Hailing from Scotland, Scott has been in the luxury hospitality space since he was twelve. He has been blessed throughout his career to have built winning cultures and coached some incredible people and championship winning teams. He brings first-hand experience from the front lines, leading complex businesses through challenging times in tough industries with great success.
His career has taken him across Europe, the former Soviet Union and in 1998, here to the US during which time he has held many positions covering all major departments. The first hotel he managed was the InterContinental in NYC in 2000 and he has since had the good fortune to be at the helm of luxury Hotels and Private Clubs in New York City, New Orleans, Washington DC, Charleston, and Kiawah Island. His leadership abilities have been thoroughly tested, leading teams through 9/11 while in New York, Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and COVID at the Kiawah Island Club. Scott has a reputation for strong leadership, generating exceptional financial results and for radically improving operational performance.
His professional passion has now turned to sharing what he has learned to help others emerge successfully in to a post-covid world of shared values, renewed focus and creating a culture of excellence where you and your organization will flourish. Scott has a degree in Hotel Management from Napier University in Edinburgh, an MBA from Henley Business School in London, a Diploma in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University and is a certified talent optimization consultant with The Predictive Index.
